This is a great large area heater, comparable to our multi-fan units but with a single 465 CFM blower that delivers over 120,000 Btu of heat an hour. That’s over 4 X the heat of any Fireplace Heater product available, and it's designed to works in any wood burning masonry fireplace, with or without doors. This is the:

Fireplace Furnaces Inc.
120,000 Btu Grate+ Heater

How it Works:
Unlike single method (grate-only) heating systems these heaters are designed to utilize a furnace efficient dual heating method; using both elements of a fire – the flame and the embers. With this design you build a fire and get great heat instantly. There's no waiting for the wood to burn or constant feeding of the fire until you have a large bed of ember to produce heat (like with a Heat-N-Glo, Cozy, Spitfire or any grate only unit).

The heater is placed in your firebox where the flame instantly heats the back and tops of the grate tubing producing heat. While the fire burns the back and tops of the tubing get hotter and hotter and the burning embers are captured by the units mesh screen blanketing the heating tubes, superheating them to “ember hot’. The blower forces air into the manifold and vents heat through the 4 - 2" diameter tubes producing fire-hot heat

Features:
Power - This unit comes with a single, thermally protected 465 CFM rated fan and delivers over 240 CFM of fire hot heat. That's enough heat to re-circulate all the air in a large 15 x 20 room ever 10 minutes.

Design - These heaters are designed to provide the most efficient, powerful, hot, smoke-free heat available. How?
. The Grate Tubes - are vertically mounted, 2” diameter multi -“C”-shaped steel tubes, Why? As over to 90% of a fires heat is given off by a fires flame the only way to capture that heat is with vertically mounted "C" shaped tubes that are optimally sized to efficient and effective fully utilize your fire as a home heating source. The bottom of the tubing provides a large, flat, stable grate for holding logs and a deep bed for capturing embers to heat them. The back and top (the grate+) are continuously heated by the flames providing ever increasing, hotter and hotter, tube temperature. The result is heat - unachievable with any single method, grate only system.
. Tubing - The 2” tubing is the icing on the design cake. It provides 312 square inches of heating surface per tube. Its size enhance the fire air circulation - enabling air flow under the logs ensuring full, rich combustion of fuel and polluting gases while significantly reducing potential dangerous creosote build-up. With these large tubes there’s no flat surface log burning or fire suffocating “ash buildup” (compare it to other models). Your logs burn through: bottom-to-top, to produce rich flames, glowing embers and a super-hot fire.

Ember Retaining Screen – the unit’s 1 1/2” Ember Retaining diamond mesh screening is secured to the frame, under the tubing, and elevated 4” above the hearth floor. It captures the fires embers to provide a blanket that covers the heating tubes - super heating them. As the embers burn the ash falls through the screening onto the firebox floor.

Venting - The grate tubing is spaced 4" apart. This not only compliments the use of 2” tubing to enhance the fires air circulation, but it also provides the highly critical unobstructed venting of smoke from your fire. There's never any "blocked" or "rolling" smoke caused by the insert. With this design: From building to burn-down of your fire, you never get escaping smoke in your house caused "insert induced" poor circulation or obstructed venting.

Quality
Material - This unit is built to last, on average over 5 X longer (30+ years) than any other Fireplace Heater! Once again - unlike any other fireplace product it is made completely of high grade/high gauge, machinery fabricated industrial steel. There are no soft metals or alloys (aluminum, tin/sheet metal, etc - like in Heat-N-Glo, Cozy, Radiator, Fireplace Log Grate). It’s industrial grade, machine fabricated, low-carbon steel tubing. Large sized and heavy-walled to provide:
o Strength and Durability
o Efficiency Fire Burning (air circulation for hot burning and complete fuel consumption)
o Extreme heat conductivity
o High volume air flow
o "Thermal burn through" protection
o Extremely long life (I can’t guarantee it but it should easily last 30 or more years – see product testimonials).

Manifold - The manifold is made of strong 28 gauge steel with 3” welded taps. It’s capable of withstand dropped log without cracking or rupturing and it is secured to the heater with 2 – ½” tap screws on the heaters two end tubes

Construction - It’s fastened with high grade, tempered steel nuts & bolts, for unmatchable strength, durability and heat tolerance. Why not welded? Simple: Metallurgy 101. Welding metals of dissimilar properties and exposing that weakness to the constant, uneven and extreme heating and cooling variations within a fireplace and compounded with the weight of a wood-stack and they will surely fail. It’s just a matter of time; sooner or later depending on your frequency of use. What then? So the question is simple - is it better to spend a few minutes every year checking 6 or 8 bolts and have a unit that will last for 30 or more years or replacing/repairing a welded unit every few years. The bolts, like the unit itself, will never fail!

Benefits
Economy: The energy cost of operating the blower is LESS than the cost of watching the average TV, a fraction the cost of using a microwave.

Savings - with this heater you will not only reduce your reliance on oil, gas and electricity to heat your home, you will also SAVE BIG $$$$ on your heating cost. It could easily pay for itself in a single winter or less and continue to save you money for many(20), many(25), many(30) years to come.

Safety: This unit comes with many important safety features you won't find on any other heater:
• The heater tubing is contoured to the rear firebox wall so it fits snugly and safely in the rear of your firebox (bewares of knock-off units).
• The blowers sit well outside the firebox (unlike Heat-N-Glo, Cozy, etc.) and are thermally protected (blowers and cords)
• The unit comes with 4-6" adjustable Heater Tube Extension Sleeves to insure the high velocity of air does not back-draft smoke into the living area (Ideal for fireboxes > 20" Deep)
• The fireplace opening and the blowers enclose within a freestanding fire-screen
• . The unit has 2 - 5" front mounted post to help prevent the "Inherent and Dangerous" rolling of burning logs.
• . The blower sit safely to the side of the fireplace so there is no exposure to the fires radiant heat.

Noise Level: This is a very difficult thing to define with total accuracy. Given that any fan that move large volumes of air will make some noise; the best I can do is offer a general reference to its level. I would rate this as fairly quiet, generally producing background noise - much like running a portable fan at high speed. A simple 'noise-level-guide' would be a several (6-8 ??) clinks up on the TV volume control when in use.
